If you view the Course Progress data for a specific course you will see a panel that looks like the one below. In the user table you will notice each user has a User score (%) and an Endline accuracy (%).
How is the User score calculated?
Each time someone completes an endline quiz (i.e. a quiz after a lesson) they will receive a score. Each quiz has 4 questions so this score will either be 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% or 100%. The overall User score is an average of the scores for each quiz in the course. So if a user scores 50% on the first quiz and 100% on the second quiz then their User score will be 75%.
A user can retake quizzes as much as they like to increase their score. So if the same user retakes the first quiz to get 100% then they will have 100% on the first quiz and 100% on the second quiz which will make their overall User score 100%.
How is the Endline accuracy calculated?
The Endline accuracy (%) is calculated as the total number of endline quiz questions answered correctly divided by the total number of endline quiz questions answered. You can see the number of Endline answers (Correct) and the number of Endline answers (Total) in the table.
How can these figures help me understand my users?
Let's compare the two users listed in the table below. This data refers to a course which contains just one endline quiz:
From this data we can deduce the following:
Joseph took the quiz once (he has answered only 4 endline quiz questions) and whereas Wendy took the quiz twice (she has answered 8 endline quiz questions).
Joseph scored 100% on his first attempt (he has an endline accuracy of 100% and a user score of 100%)
Wendy scored 100% on her second attempt but must have scored 50% on her first attempt as her endline accuracy is only 75%
Therefore we know that both learners now have strong knowledge of the topic (scoring 100% in their final attempt) but that Joseph performed better in the course as he did not need to retake the quiz.
